Lakou Lokal

Mental Health & Wellness

Interactive workshops and community education focused on stress, burnout, grief, emotional wellbeing, and culturally grounded mental health support for Haitian and immigrant families.

Program Overview

Lakou Lokal's Mental Health & Wellness program is designed specifically to support Haitian and immigrant communities in understanding and caring for their mental health. We know that talking about mental health isn't always easy—especially in communities where it has been misunderstood, stigmatized, or simply not discussed openly.

Our program works to normalize conversations around mental health, address stigma within the Haitian community, and recognize the real impact of immigration stress, burnout, grief, and survival mode. We honor faith, culture, and lived experience while increasing understanding of mental health in ways that feel accessible and respectful.

This program focuses on psychoeducation and access—not therapy services. We create safe spaces for learning, reflection, and community support.
