Lakou Lokal

Welcome to Lakou Lokal

Cultivating Wellness & Celebrating Community.

Who We Are

Lakou Lokal is a virtual community center dedicated to supporting Haitian families. We provide culturally responsive resources that honor our heritage while addressing the challenges of immigration and parenting in a new society.

The name 'Lakou Lokal' comes from the traditional Haitian 'lakou'—a space where families, neighbors, and friends live together, share, and support one another. We've created this online space where families can find support, connection, and tools that keep their culture alive while adapting to the realities of daily life as diaspora.

What We Do

We connect Haitian and immigrant families to culturally grounded resources, education, and care. Our work bridges faith, mental health, and parenting so families can thrive.
